All athletes must be registered with Special Olympics Ireland prior to registering as an athlete with Rebel Rockets Special Olympics Sports Club. Please reference their website, www.specialolympics.ie, or email them on info@specialolympics.ie and they will talk you through the process.
If you need any further assistance please contact us. Due to the young age of our athletes we require at least 1 parent / guardian to become a volunteer in the event that we need support or assistance for your athlete during a session. Please see volunteer section.
Our club relies on the support of volunteers who generously give their time each week to provide the training and / or support to the club to allow us to conduct our training sessions while maintaining a minimal waiting list, ideally no waiting list.
We are very proud of the kindness, patience and professionalism shown by our volunteers. You can become a volunteer from 15 years of age. All our coaches are registered volunteers. Our coaches are trained in coaching techniques specific to children with special needs to ensure we provide the most appropriate and beneficial coaching to all our athletes for all our sports.
We are pleased to have two qualified in-house tutors who can provide this specific training to any of our volunteers who wish to progress to coach level.
